
Prof Jean Francois Etter, PhD

Jean-François Etter completed master’s degrees in public health and in political science, and a doctorate in economics and social sciences at the University of Geneva. He joined the Faculty of Medicine in 1992, where he became associate professor in 2012 and full professor in 2019. His research focuses on the prevention of smoking and the treatment of tobacco addiction. He is particularly interested in new technologies that vaporize nicotine and tobacco, new ways of using nicotine replacement therapy, and the use of new information technologies to help smokers quit.
