Biography

Jeff has recently been appointed Chief Engagement Officer for DF Medical Ventures, which seeks to market a medicinal smoking cessation product.

Jeff Weiss was Chief Engagement Officer, General Counsel, and Interim President of NJOY, the third largest e-cigarette company in the United States.  An NJOY lawsuit against FDA, culminating in a 2011 D.C. Circuit decision in the company’s favor, paved the way for FDA regulation of non-medicinal nicotine products.  In 2022, NJOY became the first independent vaping company to secure PMTA authorizations from FDA.  Weiss’s tenure with NJOY ended with the company’s sale to Altria in June 2023.  Weiss has a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, a law degree from Arizona State University College of Law, and an LLM in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center.
