Dr Caitlin Notley is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health and lead of the Addiction Research group within the Medical School at the University of East Anglia. She has over 15 years experience leading research in addictions, in recent years focused on smoking relapse prevention, with a particular interest in vulnerable populations, postpartum relapse, and harm reduction approaches, including vaping. She led the Cancer Research UK funded ‘Electronic Cigarette Trajectories’ project, using longitudinal mixed methods data to understand user perspectives of switching from smoking to vaping, patterns of use, and social, identity related and cultural factors that may impact on long term tobacco smoking abstinence. Currently she is working with vape shops to develop relapse prevention interventions and leads a programme of research within NHS settings supporting women who stopped smoking during pregnancy to stay stopped.
