About the organisers
The inaugural E-Cigarette Summit was held at the Royal Society in November 2013 and came at a critical point in history when both public health and regulators were negotiation the TPD and grappling to understand a consumer driven product that was on an unprecedented growth trajectory. The event was oversubscribed and welcomed almost 300 delegates across health, scientific and policy communities and is widely accepted as having been one of the most influential public health meetings on e-cigarettes, that both improved the quality and the scope of the debate.
Now moving in to its fifth year, the E-Cigarette Summit has gained an unrivalled reputation as a neutral meeting point for scientists, regulators, industry, public health and practitioners to explore the latest research on e-cigarettes and facilitate respectful debate on what remain highly controversial issues. The aim will always be to ensure that disparate views can be explored in context of a common aim, which is to reduce smoking related death and disease.
The E-Cigarette Summit is solely funded through delegate revenues. The editorial programme is researched and managed by Smooth Event Management who have no involvement with the tobacco, pharmaceutical or electronic cigarette industry. The event does not accept any sponsorship and the programme is independently researched. The tenancy at the Royal Society and engagement with many of the speakers is subject to ensuring that there is no direct engagement with the tobacco industry and that the programme maintains scientific and educational merit. Smooth Events, has a proven track record of producing high level conferences and events within the scientific, public health and human rights field.
